Bye Bye Doctor Who. Hello Doctor Her?

So it’s finally official. Matt Smith is leaving Doctor Who and his last official episode will be the Christmas 2013 one.

For those of you who don’t know what type of Whovian I am, I would like to think I am old school. Like refusing to call this series 7 rather than 34.

A couple other things I have always stood by is that the actor who plays the Doctor must be from the UK (to me that means: English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh) and must  be a bloke. I know many who are calling for an older Doctor, a black Doctor and that’s always been all fine and dandy to me, as long as he’s a HE. I think however, something has happened that has changed me on some of this…. I’ll get to that in a moment though.

I have an idea in my mind of how I would like to see the next, the 12th Doctor. It’s odd since he’s young still, maybe even more so than Matt in the looks department. But again this is more about the style/look than any actual actor.

So without further adieu, my nomination for (Male!) Doctor Who #12

Jamie Campbell-Bower

…...

Jamie Campbell-Bower just seems to have the mad Einstein look going on in one picture, the history thing in another and as you can see he can open his mouth as wide (if not wider) in wild excitement as Matt Smith! *grin* – I like his look/style very much. I can see him now….Wut? STILL not ginger.. and Blonde! Good lord!

So……..

Although I never imagined I would say this…. IF (mind you I said *IF*) there was to be a Female Doctor…… I find I may quite enjoy this brilliantly talented woman in the role::

Jaime Murray

I have begun to really adore Jaime Murray, especially her portrayal of HG Wells in Warehouse 13! I think this could be rather amusing especially if she found after her regeneration that she couldn’t remember a bloody thing at all, name, species, companion, why she’s got such an awfully coloured bow-tie on???? Who wears an eggplant bow tie and matching trench coat in this day and age anyway???

Might be amusing! Do you have a candidate in mind?

Weekly Photo Challenge: LOVE

It was odd how lost I was in this assignment. So much is done in the name of Love yet it’s no where in the vicinity of Love.

So I took photos of tweets from one much younger and less jaded than I…..

Evan Rachel Wood

Love-per erw

Love-per erw2

That just about sums it up.

Love is Love is God is gender-less is blind is faithful is kind, and on and on… Basically love=good

That, Evan! What a great kid! Her momma must be proud! 🙂

Daily Prompt: Quote

Writing Assignment: Do you have a favourite quote that you return to again and again? What is it, and why does it move you?

Since I was a poet long before I was anything else of substance (I wrote my first poem at age 7) words mean a lot to me. Words are powerful. I have written many poems about words but today TPTB (the powers that be) are asking for a quote and although many come to mind the one that I seem to re-visit over and over in the past 30+ years is by Henry David Thoreau:

I am the different drummer.(inclusified version)

I remember the first time I read that quote, I was 27 and I was in a diaconate programme and the Reverend was displeased with something I was doing in my personal life outside the ministry and so during a lesson some papers were being handed out and along with my paper I was also handed that quote on a piece of paper with a picture of what looked like a little drummer child walking away from a crowd. It was the Reverend’s way of telling me her unsolicited (personal) opinion but I took it as a sign and left the programme. Kind of stupid you might think but really it was the best thing I ever did because I could have never survived with any group who chastised people from being who they really are and in the same way “The Doctor” says he’s “A Madman With A Box”, I am definitely “The Different Drummer”. Heh, that has even, over the years, been a by-line I have used.

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone would just encourage each other to just simply be themselves, to march/dance/run to their own BOOM BOOM out of acceptance of diversity, not exclusion due to it.

Daily Prompt: Mix-Tape 12-11-12

Put together a a musical playlist of songs that describe your life, including what you hope your future entails.

Odd that the day I came back online having decided my new post would be about the songs I feel

deepest in my soul that the daily mixtape2prompt would be as such.   GMTA? Perhaps..

So what I will do is combine the two ideas and put all the songs that at some point really
touched me and you can be sure if it’s on the playlist, I’ve felt it, (some songs deeper than
was comfortable)   So without further adieu:
**actually there was much further adieu since this is now 2 days late due to connectivity issues.
So NOW…
